The legal persecution of indigenous women

Indigenous woman in Mexico can be jailed and charged with murder for suffering a miscarriage. In most cases judicial proceedings against the women are conducted in Spanish and they are not offered a translator or defense lawyer who can explain the process in the women's native language.
